The Morning Blotter

Things That Happened Over the Weekend: At 11:00 pm on Friday, police were called to the 2000 Block of Terry Avenue after a man threatened to shoot his fiance and then kill himself. The woman was able to flee and police arrested the man, who was booked into the King County Jail for assault. On Saturday night, police arrested a driver near the 1700 block of South Columbian Way after, police say, the driver struck and pinned two people against another car. Later that evening, shortly before midnight, police say a man went to the home of his ex-girlfriend near Rainier Ave S and S Othello street and began pounding on the front door. The woman’s mother told the man to leave and, police say, the woman went outside to “protect her car.” There, the man grabbed her by the neck and tried to force her into his car. A patrol officer arrived on scene and chased the man—who fled—catching up to him several blocks away. The man was arrested for violating a no-contact order and for domestic violence.

Twenty Four Percent: Cop killings up significantly over last year.

On That Alleged Note: Christopher Monfort scheduled to appear in court this morning. Brian Slodysko will have a report from the courthouse—which is sure to be a mob scene—later today.
