Late Night Booze Cruise Ends Badly

The Seattle Fire Department’s Harbor Patrol unit fished a 36-year-old and 28-year-old old man out of the drink last night after the two men decided to go on a moonlight kayak adventure. They, of course, had been drinking, police say.

Around 2:30 this morning, police received a call from the 36-year-old who said the other man had fallen out of his boat several miles from the West Point Lighthouse. SFD’s harbor patrol picked them up and transported them to Harborview where the 28-year-old was treated for hypothermia.”As could be imagined the younger man who had been in the water was excruciatingly cold and could barely speak coherently,” police noted in a report on the incident.

According to police, the men were watching the Texas-Alabama game last night—and drinking, of course—when they decided to go kayaking. Police say took to the sea (sound?) near Bremerton wearing street clothes and life jackets.

The young man is expected to recover.
In other drinking/crime related news, Seattle police say a sandwich shop employee was robbed at 4th and Cedar last night by a man wearing a red hat. Unfortunately, the employee had consumed six beers prior to the robbery, so when police found a suspect wearing a red hat, the employee was unable to positively identify him.
