Prosecutors have charged a Federal Way man with threatening to bomb SPD’s North Precinct.
From the PI:
At 3:30 a.m. Feb. 6, Adrian Scott Dower phoned the North Precinct office to report that he’d be placing a bomb there later that day, King County prosecutors contend in court documents.
“I want to see cops die,” Dower allegedly told the officer who’d answered the call.
Following his arrest by Federal Way police at his home, Dower said he planned to throw the explosive — for which Dower had yet to obtain any materials — at specific officers, prosecutors allege.
“Dower said he didn’t know their names, but had seen them and knew their descriptions,” Detective Kerry Hays said in court documents. “He said that neither officer had done anything to him.
“He wasn’t mad at them,” Hays continued. “He just wanted to see what it felt like to kill a cop.”
It’s hard to say conclusively whether cops actually are becoming more frequent targets of violence, but it sure seems like it.
