The University of Washington sent out a notice earlier today warning students about two robberies near campus:

On Tuesday February 23, 2010 two strong arm robberies occurred near the University of Washington campus in Seattle.

1)  At approximately 1:00 p.m., a female student was approached by 4-5 males at a bus stop located near University Village in the 2700 block of N.E. 45th Street. One of the suspects took an iPod Touch from the victim as she was listening to it. The suspects were described as wearing black sweaters and blue jeans. One had his hair up in a pony tail. The victim was not injured.

2)  At approximately 1:10 p.m., two males, 18-21 years of age, approached a female student in the 4500 block of 15th Avenue N.E. and took an iPhone from her. One of the suspects was described as 5’10”, wearing a dark sweater with blue jeans. The second suspect was 5’7″, thin build, with dark hair and a pony tail, wearing a black sweater and blue jeans. The victim was also not injured.

Officers conducted an area check but found nothing. These incidents are being investigated by the Seattle Police Department under incident numbers 10-61392 and 10-61371. Anyone having additional information regarding these cases is asked to call the Seattle Police Department at 206-625-5011.
