Man Fatally Shot In South Seattle

Update: The King County Medical Examiner has released the man’s name, so we will too. The victim of the shooting has been identified as Andrew Ray Johnson.

Seattle police are looking for a gunman who fatally shot a man in the 4600 block of S Brandon St shortly before midnight.

Police received the call of shots fired at 11:49pm and set up containment in the area. Officers found a 24-year-old man who had been shot in the chest and head. Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were having trouble getting witnesses to talk to them at the scene. Officers took a juvenile male in to custody at Rainier and Mead, but it’s not clear whether the boy is connected to the shooting.
