Teen Convicted In Tuba Man Killing Charged For Robbery

The juvenile justice system is fucked.

From the PI.Com:

A 16-year-old who admitted killing Seattle’s “Tuba Man” and served only three months behind bars has again been charged with second-degree robbery — less than a year after being sentenced in the manslaughter case.

Court documents show the alleged robbery in January shares similarities to the 2008 attack on Edward McMichael, known to generations of Seattle sports fans for playing outside arenas.

Police say the teen’s crime is similar to another robbery that occurred the same night McMichael was attacked. The teen was charged with second-degree robbery in that attack, but the charge was amended to the manslaughter case as part of the guilty plea agreement in McMichael’s death.

The 16-year-old had been at large, but Seattle patrol officers took him into custody at 8 a.m. Wednesday in the 2700 block of Yesler Way, a police spokesman said. He was arrested without incident.
