Cyclist Says He Was Assaulted In West Seattle

Seattle police are looking for a man who assaulted a cyclist as he rode home in West Seattle last week.

Police received a call from the cyclist on April 13th, who told officers he was riding home when a man asked him for a cigarette at 16th Ave SW and SW Cloverdale St.

The cyclist “continued riding without answering,” the report says, when a second man “stepped out into the street and punched [the victim] in the throat.” The cyclist was able to keep going, but was chased by one of suspects as he rode off.

The man rode home and reported the incident, and officers found a man and a woman they believed may been connected to the incident at 9 Av SW and Henderson Pl SW. Neither matched the description of the suspect in the assault, so police released them after a brief interview.
