Enjoying a the Seattle summer and watching his friends prepare to head away for college, Sullivan told his mother, Debra, he wanted to see the world.

A 7.62 mm bullet fired by another teen — a young man who’d never really met Sullivan but found himself wrapped up in a teenage feud — left him dead in his car on a Leschi neighborhood street.
On Friday, that man, 20-year-old Tristan Appleberry, learned where he’ll be going — a state prison, for the next 20 years.
