Man Charged For Trying to Strangle Woman At Golden Gardens

A 36-year-old Seattle man is facing assault charges on allegations that he beat and tried to strangle a young woman at Golden Gardens Park.

In charging documents, King County prosecutors contend Scott W. Allison accosted the woman on Aug. 11 at the Ballard park after an afternoon of drinking.

The woman was drinking with Allison and three others when, at about 11 p.m., she tried to wake a female member of the group who had passed out, according to charging documents. When the woman tried to roust her sleeping companion, the other woman became upset and punched her, then bit her forearm.

Allison then accosted the woman after she was bitten, squeezing her throat, a Seattle detective told the court.

“Do you know how close you are to death right now?” Allison said shortly before the woman lost consciousness, according to charging documents.
