One man was taken to the hospital following an attack in the University District last Friday.
According to a police report, officers September 10th, police responded to 14th and NE 43rd St around 8:30pm and for an assault call.
One man at the scene told police he was walking down 14th Ave with two friends when a man and a woman walked up to the group and pepper sprayed one of the men in the group.
When one man tried to step in and protect his friend, the male suspect hit him in the head with an expandable baton. Both suspects then fled.
The man hit with the baton sustained a gash on his head and was taken to the University of Washington medical center for treatment.
The police report indicates the suspect may have been involved in another crime one day earlier, but provides no details on the incident.
