Police are looking for a white man in his 20s, dressed all in black, suspected of stabbing another man in the throat at the SoDo Jack In the Box just before 10:45am.
A witness told police they saw two men fighting before the victim was stabbed.
Update: It appears the victim, who is in his late 20s, was stabbed in the adam’s apple (ugh).
It’s not clear if the stabbing actually occurred at the Jack In the Box, or somewhere nearby, but this certainly wouldn’t be the first time something bad has happened at that particular JITB.
Update x2: Thanks to Justin at Capitolhillseattle for sending us a photo. Looks like there’s a crime scene just across from the JITB.
Update x3: Here’s the official word from SPD:
On September 29th at 10:37 a.m. South Precinct patrol officers responded to a report of stabbing in the 400 block of S Holgate. Officers made contact with an adult male stabbing victim who suffered a non-life threatening knife wound to the throat. Additional officers conducted an area check for the suspect vaguely described as a white male in his twenties, 6’0, 180 pounds wearing black clothes and a hoodie. No one identified as the suspect was located.
Seattle Fire medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center for emergency care.
It is possible that the suspect and the victim were known to each other.
