One man was shot in the arm during a bizarre car chase in North Seattle last week.
Around 3:00pm on Saturday 25th, police received several reports of gunfire near 135th and Ashworth Ave.
A short time later, a man showed up at Northwest Hospital “with the bullet under the skin surface at the left wrist,” a police report says.
The man told police he was driving near 125th and Meridian when two or three men in a burgundy Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Marquis began following him and yelling at him.
The burgundy car rammed the victim while he was stopped at a stoplight, and chased him as he drove away. The suspects fired at least one shot through a back window of the victim’s car.
The victim was able to get away from his assailants, dumped his car, and called a friend to come take him to the hospital.
At the hospital, one officer recognized the victim has having been associated with an earlier incident, “where suspects were apparently trying to run over and chase a subject,” the report says.
When police questioned the man about the incident, he said the two incidents were not related. However, the police report indicates SPD received similar suspect descriptions in both incidents.
