Teen Shot At Rainier and Cloverdale

Police are investigating a shooting in South Seattle at Rainier and Cloverdale.

Police received a report of shots fired in the area, and minutes later, a man showed up at the nearby community center with gunshot wounds.


The suspects are 18-20, and one had red bandanna hanging out of pockets.

Police have contacted the gang unit about the shooting.

Update: According to the scanner, the victim is a 15 17 year-old boy. He was apparently shot in the abdomen, arm, and hand.

On 10/16/10, at approximately 9:00 p.m.,  the victim and a couple of other juveniles were standing around the northbound bus shelter at Rainier S/S Cloverdale.  The suspect, a black male teen and several others were standing in the parking lot of the mini mart.

The group approached the victim and the question of ‘who you with’ came up.  The suspect made mention of ‘CD’ [Central District] and the victim said something back to them about ‘DW’ [D-dub, or Down Wit the Crew] The victim wanted to fight and the suspect pulled out a small silver handgun and started waving it around.

The suspect fired at least four shots at the victim, hitting him at least once.  The victim then ran toward the community center.  The area was quickly flooded with patrol units.    Several casings were located.  Gang unit detectives responded and processed the scene.

The victim, at 17-year-old male was transported to Harborview Medical Center with critical injuries.
