Pizza Man Gets the Fist-Lover’s Special

A pizza delivery driver was attacked near UW’s campus last week, according to a police report.

Around 2:30am on October 15th, a man called a pizza place on 50th and University asked if he could deliver a pizza to the corner of 19th NE and NE 45th (the deliver-it-to-the-corner bit should’ve been the first clue that something was amiss, pizza dude).

Two suspects waived the driver down on the street, and as the he got out of his car, one of the suspects attempted to grab the pizza from him.

The driver and the suspect struggled over the pizza, and one of the suspects punched the driver in his shoulder. The suspects then fled with the pizza.

The driver then returned to his pizza shop and called police. It appears he was not seriously injured.

The pizza shop provided police with the suspect’s phone number, which was recorded on caller ID.

Oh, University District. I’m so glad school’s back in session. We have so much more to write about.
