The Weekend Blotter

Here’s a wrap-up on a few incidents from over the weekend, courtesy of the SPD Blotter:

Pistol Vs. Posterior:

On 10/24/10, at approximately 2:08 a.m., a  the Restaurant/Lounge in the 6900 block of MLK Wy had just closed up and the victim was leaving.  He stated that as he was walking away from the business crossing the street when he was shot.

Officers in the area heard one shot and shortly after that the call came out.  The victim ran back to the restaurant where he was contacted.  Seattle Fire Department personnel responded and transported the victim to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to his butt.

The Gang unit responded but there was no scene and the victim was not talking.  While conducting an area check officers located a car around the corner from the restaurant.  The vehicle was running and a male was behind the wheel.

Officers checked on the man and discovered that he had a loaded revolver on his person.  He was not authorized to carry the handgun and was arrested and booked into King County Jail for the weapon’s violation.

Woman vs. Windshiled:

On 10/24/10, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded to 2nd Ave S and S. Jackson St to a call of a vehicle collision where a woman was partially pinned under a vehicle.  Upon arrival, officers found one unoccupied vehicle that witnesses identified as having run a red light.

The female victim had been ejected from one vehicle in the collision and ended up with a foot trapped under the tire of the other vehicle.  Officers moved the vehicle away so that Seattle Fire Department personnel could extricate the female victim.  It was soon learned that the driver of the suspect vehicle was the husband of the female victim.

The woman’s husband (suspect) eventually returned to the scene.  The incident allegedly began at a hot dog stand a block away where the woman spoke to another man.  This led to a verbal dispute between the couple.  As he drove recklessly away and ran a red light, the female victim (wife) was somehow ejected from the vehicle.

The female victim was treated on scene by Seattle Fire and transported to an area hospital with possible broken bones in her foot. She also had some teeth knocked during the collision.   The victim’s husband  (suspect) was processed for DUI and then booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Vehicular Assault.  Traffic Collision Investigator’s responded and TCIS and processed the scene.

 Dumbass vs. Gun Laws

On 10/24/10, at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers responded to the area of 1st and Forest in response to a “man with a gun” call.  The witness was bouncer at a local club who was outside the club attempting to break-up a fight.  One of the parties displayed a gun and started raising it and the bouncer told the suspect to put it away and not do something stupid.

Numerous friends were with the suspect and they grabbed him and escorted him up the block away from the disturbance.  The suspect tried to hide the gun in some bushes, but didn’t because there were too many people around.  The friends and the suspect got into a parked white SUV just as Police arrived.

All occupants were detained, the suspect was positively identified by the witness, and a firearm was recovered.  A second firearm was also found in the vehicle.  The suspect and many of his friends are Asian Gang members.  The suspect was booked for into King County Jail for Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act.
