Seattle police and the Secret Service are trying to figure out who stole a whole buncha credit card numbers in the last week or so.
Capitolhillseattle.com has been all over the story for the last few days, and here’s the official release from SPD:
The Seattle Police Department is working with the United States Secret Service regarding a number of reports of fraudulent credit card charges in Seattle. The Secret Service is the lead investigating agency in these cases and the Seattle Police Department is providing assistance.
At this early point in the investigation it does not appear that a fraudulent credit card access or ”skimming” device was used.
All citizens are reminded to check their bank statements regulary for unfamiliar charges. Should those charges exist, call the Seattle Police non-emergency line at (206) 625-5011.
