Hit and Run Charges Against Former Deputy Mayor Dismissed

Former deputy mayor Tim Ceis has cleaned up his little hit and run incident—which we told you about last month—by ponying up $413.75 to pay for damage he allegedly caused to a scooter parked in downtown Seattle.

I didn’t know you could just pay off a hit-and-run case like that, but according to Kimberly Mills, spokeswoman for the Seattle City Attorney’s office, this kind of resolution isn’t uncommon. “With so little in damages, it saves court time [and] costs of attorneys on both sides,” Mill says.
