Man Shot By Police Charged With Gun Possession

From the PI.com:

Filing charges Wednesday afternoon, King County prosecutors contend Jose Manuel Cardenas-Muralta was carrying a pistol despite previous felony drug conviction when, on Dec. 7, a Seattle officer shot him as he attempted to draw the gun.

“When police confronted him the defendant reached into his waistband and refused to comply with the officer’s demands,” Senior Deputy Prosecutor Jim Ferrell told the court. “The officers then were required to deploy a Taser and then shoot the suspect, as the defendant was attempting to pull the gun out.”
