Gang Unit Investigating South Lake Union Shooting

It’s amazing this didn’t turn out worse than it did:

On December 19th at approximately 12:42 a.m. officers responded to a shots fired call in the 300 block of Fairview Avenue North.  Preliminary investigation indicates that there was a large crowd gathered in the streets at that location.  Several shots rang out.  A male victim felt pain to his head and fell to the ground.  The victim then got up and ran away from the area.

Responding officers arrived on scene and located the victim, who had sustained grazing gunshot wounds to the top of his forehead, his right cheek, and his lower leg.  The victim was subsequently transported to Harborview Medical Center by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

Numerous vehicles fled the scene following the shooting.  Unfortunately, there is no suspect description at this time.

Gang Unit detectives responded to the scene and continue to actively investigate.
