The Morning Blotter: Bike-Jacked On Capitol Hill

Beware, two-wheelers: police are looking for two suspects who beat a man and took his bicycle in a robbery on Capitol Hill earlier this week.

According to police, the victim was walking south, pushing his bicycle down the street near Harvard Ave and Olive Way around 4:00pm on December 19th, when two men walked up to him and started punching him in the face.

The two suspects—described as a white and hispanic male, both in their 40s—took the victim’s backpack, $100, and his bike, and ran off.

The victim chased the suspects and called police, but eventually lost sight of his assailants.

The report notes officers had trouble finding the victim on Capitol Hill “because he was running around the neighborhood trying to find the suspects.”

Police also searched the neighborhood, but weren’t able to find the suspects.

The victim sustained lacerations around his left eye and lips, and was transported to a hospital.
