This Is Why Cats Are Better

The bullmastiffs that attacked a South Seattle boy earlier this month pinned another dog and accosted that dog’s owner this week, Seattle Animal Shelter Director Don Jordan said Wednesday.

About 6:15 p.m. Monday, a woman was walking her Australian Shepherd mix, Pepsi, at Brighton Playfield at 6000 39th Avenue South. They were met by two large bullmastiffs that pinned the dog to the ground, Jordan said.

The dog escaped, but the bullmastiffs then turned their aggression to the woman.

The dogs are owned by a 39-year-old man who lives with his parents, according to shelter staff. At least one of the man’s parents heard the commotion at the park Monday night and corralled the dogs back into their yard.
