UW Students Warned About Large Group of Pushy Burglars

UW sent out an alert to students this morning after a group of burglars hit a home at 47th and 19th Thursday night:

On January 20th, 2011 at approximately 11:00 p.m., five unknown suspects–three females and two males–entered a residence in the 4700 block of 19th Avenue N.E. Occupants of the residence asked the suspects to leave, and they did.  They returned a short time later and were again contacted inside the residence. The suspects said they were looking for someone and again were escorted from the residence. Between 2:00 and 3:00 a.m., January 21, 2011, the suspects returned and tried to enter the residence. The occupants had to forcefully secure the door to keep the suspects from entering.  Later, one of the occupants of the residence was awakened and observed a suspect in her room. In the morning, occupants of the residence discovered numerous items missing.  Seattle Police were contacted and a report made on the theft.  There is no indication the suspects were armed, no one was harmed, and no threats were made. The suspects remain at large.

Two of the suspects are described as follows:

–    Male, dark complexion, unknown age, over 5’8″ tall.

–    Female, dark complexion, unknown age, approximately 5’7″ tall, heavy build, long straight black hair.

–    No further identifying details or descriptions available on the other suspects.

–    Suspect vehicle is described as a White Lexus.
