Muggers Take Student’s School Laptop

Two robbers cornered a teen on his way home from school, took his school laptop and threatened to beat him up on Beacon Hill last week.

According to a police report, the 15-year-old student had just gotten off the bus at Beacon Ave S and S Cloverdale around 3:00pm on January 19th, and was walking home when two men approached him and “threatened to beat him up unless he let them search his pockets and backpack.”

The suspects then rifled through the boy’s pockets and took his school-owned laptop and cellphone.

The robbers then hopped a fence in a nearby yard and fled.

The boy reported the robbery to his school the next day.

The school told police the laptop is equipped with an anti-theft GPS device, which they could activate once a police report was filed.
