The kind of e-mail subject line that makes for an exciting Thursday afternoon in SeattleCrime land: City asks court to shut down Jiggles

We wrote about Bob Davis’s plan to open Jiggles Gentlemens Club back in November.

Yelp gives the joint 4 stars, by the way.

Here’s the statement sent out from the City Attorney’s office and some snippets from the complaint, below. We’ve attached the complete complaint document to this post.

The City Attorney’s Office on Thursday asked the King County Superior Court to shut down Jiggles, a strip club in the University District, arguing that operation of the “adult cabaret” violates the City’s zoning and building codes.

Jiggles is run by Robert D. Davis, who leases the property at 5220 Roosevelt Way N.E. As president of ASF, a Washington corporation, Davis has operated Jiggles since Dec. 16, 2010.

According to the City, operation of the strip club violates a zoning buffer requirement because it is located within 800 feet of a school, child care center, community center and public park.
