Suspect In West Seattle Park Attack Re-Booked For Other Incidents

The man charged with attacking a female jogger in West Seattle Tuesday has been re-booked into the King County Jail in connection with two other attacks on women in Lincoln Park last year.

According to the King County Prosecutor’s office, Duane Starkenburg, 46, is suspected of attacking two other women in December and August. He was re-booked for “investigation of Indecent Liberties.”

Police arrested Starkenburg Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly ran up behind a 27-year-old woman jogging in Lincoln Park, and tried to tackle her. The woman broke free and ran away.

Police say Starkenburg fled the park, but officers picked him near the scene.

Last night, SPD put out a sketch of Starkenburg—which was kinda weird, since his mug had been all over TV after his arraignment early yesterday—in the hopes that other victims might come forward.
It appears SPD’s efforts paid off, and Starkenburg could soon be facing additional charges.
We’ll update if and when prosecutors file another case.
