Medical crews and SPD gang units are responding to a shooting in the 9300 block of 51st Ave S.
According to police radio, a man in his 20s was found with a gunshot wound to his lower right side.
Police engaged in a foot pursuit of a suspect who fled on foot from a vehicle matching the description of a car reported by witnesses to have been involved in the shooting.
The suspect was captured and taken into custody. A handgun was found after the foot chase near 75th and Renton. A female suspect was also being pursued but was not immediately found.
All information is preliminary and has not yet been confirmed by SPD.

Drive-by shooting in South Seattle
Today at approximately at 4:20 p.m., officers responded to the 9300 block of 51 Av S to a reported shooting. Upon arrival officers contacted the victim, a male 17-18 years old, who had a gunshot wound to his chest. He was treated on scene by Seattle Fire and subsequently transported to Harborview Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
According to witnesses the suspects were in a moving vehicle when they fired upon the victim. Upon fleeing the scene, the 2 suspects a male and female were quickly apprehended by responding officers. Officers also recovered a handgun.
It is unknown at this time what percipated the shooting however, the involved parties may be gang involved.
