The Morning Blotter: Man Stabs Bouncer At Lake Union Club

We got a few emails about some police action on Westlake Ave over the weekend It took a few days, but we finally figured out what happened:

Police say a group of men fought with two security guards outside a club on Lake Union, attacking one bouncer with a bottle, and stabbing another.

SPD got a call about a fight at a club in the 1200 block of Westlake Ave around 1:15 am Sunday morning.

When police arrived on scene, they found one bouncer had been stabbed in the leg, and the other had sustained a wound on the back of his head.

One security guard told police he was working inside the club when five men were involved in a “disturbance” inside the venue, and were escorted outside.

As bouncers were walking the men out of the club, several of the suspects said something to eachother in Spanish before the group of men turned on the guards. Two of the suspects in the group then pulled out knives.

One of the suspects stabbed a guard in the leg with an X-acto knife, while another suspect smashed a beer bottle over another bouncer’s head.

After being stabbed, one bouncer grabbed the suspect’s knife, and flung it across the club’s parking lot.

The suspects then fled.

Officers found three of the suspects a few blocks south of the club, and found another suspect hiding under a car in the area. Police weren’t able to find the fifth suspect, who may have fled the scene in a Prius.

The police report indicates the suspects may have flashed a gang sign at the bouncers during the altercation.
