Injuries, Arrest In Rainer Ave Hit & Run:

On April 16th at 2:51 a.m. officers responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision involving injuries in the 9600 block of Rainier Avenue South.  Officers arrived on scene and discovered three adult males lying in the middle of the roadway and a heavily damaged black Honda Civic up on the curb.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the Honda Civic was traveling southbound on Rainier Avenue South with two adult females (driver and passenger) on board.  A large SUV was traveling northbound with at least four people on board (a driver and at least three passengers).

In the 9600 block of Rainier Avenue South the SUV crossed the centerline and struck the Honda.  Three males were ejected from the SUV.   The driver of the SUV failed to stop and fled northbound on Rainier Avenue South before turning onto Seward Park.

SFD medics were called to the scene and the three adult males found in the roadway by officers were transported to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) with life-threatening injuries.

The two females who were on board the Honda were treated by medics for their non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers conducting an area search for the suspect vehicle successfully located it parked at the Atlantic City boat ramp.  The adult male suspect, who showed signs of intoxication, was still at the wheel.

The suspect was transported to HMC for a blood draw as part of the on-going investigation into suspicion of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or Drugs, Vehicular Assault, and felony Hit & Run.

The SUV was impounded and taken to the evidence garage for processing.  Traffic Collision Investigation Squad detectives responded to the scene and continue to actively investigate.
