A Seattle man is being investigated for allegedly knocking one Seattle police officer to the ground and throwing punches at another during an incident near the Bit Saloon in Ballard.
Police say the 23-year-old Seattle man was near the Bit, in the 4800 block of 17th Avenue, when police were called Monday night for a fight. Dispatchers said three men were fighting a bouncer, who had a cut on his eyebrow.
Police arrived and reported finding two men east of the saloon yelling at each other, appearing that they were about to fight. When one of the officers grabbed one of the men – the suspect now being investigated – police say he spun away and threw a punch, grazing the officer.
They said as he tried to flee, the man knocked a woman officer to the ground and she hit her head on the pavement. Court documents show the man tripped over the fallen officer, but pushed off her to get back up.
