The Morning Blotter: Now Is Not A Great Time To Be A Pickpocket

Just a few days after one man chased a pair of pickpockets around downtown and threatened to pepper spray them, another pair of sticky-fingered finks were received a beat down downtown.

On June 19th, around 1:30 am, a man was walking home along 3rd and Battery when two suspects walked up behind him and grabbed his wallet out of his back pocket.

The man told laster police he punched one of the suspects, picked up a wooden board off the ground, and “ran them off.”

When officers contacted the victim—who was intoxicated, according to police—he declined to provide officers with more information about the incident.
