A woman reported she was attacked near a Greenlake swimming area in broad daylight last week.
Around 3:00 p.m. on July 6th, the woman was at the park swimming with a group of friends near the bathhouse theater.
The woman left the swimming area and was walking near a “wall in the park,” a police report says, when a man approached her, grabbed her by the neck and “squeezed until she felt dizzy.”
Another person in the park intervened, and the suspect let the woman go, and fled.
The woman didn’t report the incident until the next day, after her mother convinced her to call police.
The report says the woman had bruises on the right side of her neck.
The woman wasn’t able to give officers much information about the suspect, but said he was ‘dirty with sores on his arms.”
The woman told police she did not know why the man attacked her.
