One man was hospitalized after he was brutally beaten in a fight outside a Pioneer Square club last weekend.
Officers were called to the Volume nightclub at 2nd and S Washington shortly before 1:15am on August 6th, where they found club security trying to break up a large fight outside the club.
Security had already pepper sprayed a group of people brawling on the street, and one person lying on the ground, unconscious.
In the midst of the melee, another man walked up to the man lying on the ground, and stomped on his head.
As officers approached the scene, the suspect’s friends began pulling him from the scene towards a parking lot.
Police arrested the man, who claimed he wasn’t involved in the fight. However, police pointed out that the man’s knuckles were swollen.
According to a police report, when the victim regained consciousness, his left eye was swollen shut. Medics put him in a neck brace and placed him on a backboard before they took him to Harborview.
Police booked the suspect into the King County Jail for assault.
