Man Threatens Officers In Call to TV Station

The Seattle Police Department’s Intelligence Unit is investigating a threat made against officers, called in to a local TV station earlier this week.

The investigation began after a man called KOMO television Wednesday and said they would kill one officer every day for the next 31 days.

The department later sent an email to officers warning them about the threats.

The threats come a little more than a month before the anniversary of the murder of Seattle police officer Timothy Brenton, who was shot and killed while on patrol on Halloween 2009.

Following Brenton’s murder—which was allegedly preceded by the firebombing of several police vehicles—some officers in the department expressed frustration over the lack of warning from the department.

While SPD seems to be taking this latest threats very seriously, two officers who received the email referred to the threat as “bullshit.”
