This is what happens when trivial tech/entertainment news breaks at the PubliCola offices:
Erica: Hey, Qwikster’s dead!
Yup, that’s right: the Netflix offshoot you’ve probably never heard of—Qwikster, which was supposed to be come the DVD-only arm of the company—is dead on arrival.
From Netflix’s blog:
It is clear that for many of our members two websites would make things more difficult, so we are going to keep Netflix as one place to go for streaming and DVDs.
This means no change: one website, one account, one password… in other words, no Qwikster.
While the July price change was necessary, we are now done with price changes.
In summar: The Great Qwikster Debate of 2011 is over, and we can all go back to work.
