Seattle police have forwarded their assault case against Phoenix Jones—Seattle’s most famous masked crusader—to city prosecutors.
City Attorney’s spokeswoman Kimberly Mills says her office received the case around 1:00 pm today, but could not estimate how long it might take for prosecutors to decide whether to decline or file charges.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, Seattle police arrested Phoenix Jones and seized his costume Sunday morning after a group of men and women reported Jones had pepper sprayed them as they were “dancing” in the street.
You can see video of the incident here.
In an interview with PubliCola the day after his arrest, Jones said he believes one of the officers who arrested him has a “vendetta” against him.
Jones also said that despite his recent arrest, he plans to continue his late-night patrols around the city, as soon as he gets a new costume.
