City to Charge Five For Occupy Chase Bank Protest

Seattle City Attorney Pete Holmes is preparing to file charges against five protesters arrested during an Occupy Seattle takeover of a Chase Bank on Capitol Hill earlier this month.

According to Holmes’ spokeswoman Kimberly Mills, the city attorney’s office will file first degree trespass charges against two women and three men—one 23-year-old, three 24-year-olds, and a 31-year-old—sometime later this week.

Police arrested the five protesters November 2 after they allegedly chained themselves together inside the Chase Bank on Broadway and E. Thomas St. They were booked into jail and released after about three hours.

The five protesters could face a maximum of one year in jail and up to $5,000 fine if convicted, according to Mills.
