Short Fuzz today. Happy Thanksgiving!
1) A police source tells PubliCola the department is re-upping it’s supply of pepper spray after using most of it during the Occupy Seattle protests.
According to the source, the spray the department has used during the protests was not as potent as officers had expected, because it was “old.”
A department spokesman declined to discuss the status of SPD’s pepper spray stockpile.
2) A 34-year-old man was seriously wounded in a stabbing in Pioneer Square Tuesday night.
Police say the man was stabbed several times in the neck near 2nd Ave and S. Washington St in Pioneer Square, around 9:30 pm.
When officers found the man, he was bleeding “profusely” from his neck. Although the man’s wounds were “life-threatening,” police tell PubliCola he is expected to survive.
According to a department source, investigators believe the man was stabbed following a dispute over drugs.
