Today in Fuzz: Charges filed in NYE shooting; woman shot in South Seattle has died; police release photos of firebombing suspect.
1) A 23-year-old man is facing charges for wounding a teen in a shootout near the Paramount New Year’s Eve. Prosecutors have charged Keith Tremaine Williams with assault and unlawful weapons possession after witnesses—including an off-duty Lacey police officer saw him open fire on a group of men following a dispute at 8th and Pine. Two men—an 18-year-old man and 24-year-old—were wounded in the incident.
Police arrested Williams about four blocks away from the scene of the incident.
It appears police may still be looking for another gunman as records say gang detectives found bullets from two different guns—a 9mm and .22 caliber— at the scene, indicating there was more than one shooter.
2) Although police won’t officially confirm it, the woman shot outside of a Rainier Beach restaurant last week died after medics rushed her to Harborview, PubliCola has learned. Police would only say the case is an “active and ongoing investigation,” and declined to discuss any details.
3) SPD has released bank surveillance photos of the person who left a firebomb near a Chase Bank ATM in South Seattle around 3:15 am Friday morning:
