1) Police say a 30-year-old man was killed in a shooting in South Seattle Monday night.

According to SPD, the man was shot “in or near a vehicle” near Martin Luther King Jr. Way S. and S. Walden St. around 5:00pm. Medics took him to Harborview, where he died.

2) A man armed with a rifle opened fire on a family as they drove through the Mt. Baker neighborhood last week, a police report says.

The family pulled up behind a white van blocking the street near 38th Ave. S. and S. Court St. shortly after 1pm on January 4, when a man came out of the van, pulled out a rifle, and fired two shots into the victims’ Ford Taurus, puncturing the grill and radiator.

The victims backed up down the block to get away from the gunman, who fled.

Police weren’t able to find the suspect.

3) Robbery detectives are investigating yet another armed holdup of a south end business, this time at a Beacon Hill convenience store.

Police say four masked men wearing dark clothes walked into a minimart at 14th Ave. S. and S. Hill St. last night, forced the employees onto the ground at gunpoint and stole cash before they fled.

Police are already looking for suspects in several other armed robberies at other south Seattle businesses, but police haven’t said whether this latest incident is connected to the other cases.
